I’m so excited about this series. Working on it, and with Coliloquy, has been pure inspirational joy! – Heidi Kling
Coliloquy’s publishing format is so fun and flexible – kind of like being able to put your ankles behind your head, but without the annoying thigh cramps. – Tawna Fenske
As excited as we are about pushing the boundaries of digital publishing, we’d be nothing without the creativity and trust of our authors. Joining our team takes a little leap, but it’s a pretty fun ride!

CULTURE
Our technology is about freedom, creativity, and interactivity…and we’ve worked hard to shape our culture in that same mold. If we’re going to re-imagine storytelling, shouldn’t we also reexamine how the publishing industry works?
COLLABORATION
We collaborate heavily with our authors on the front-end of their writing process to help them understand what our platform can do. For all new authors, we go through an initial working session to brainstorm which of our features would be best-suited for the work and its target audience, share best practices, play with different narrative maps, and generally provide as much support as the author needs or wants.
All of our authors work with a traditional editor, as well as directly with our team on narrative structure and technical constraints. They also tacitly work with their readers, who provide feedback through various engagement mechanics.
ENGAGEMENT
In addition to point-of-sale data, we focus on engagement–how invested are readers in the story and its characters? Yes, selling 1 million copies of a book is impressive, but what if 75% of those readers never finish it? Simply put, we want our readers to come back to our characters and stories—to truly engage and interact.
As such, we’ve made it easy for our authors test out new ideas, plots, and/or characters quickly and effectively, refining and growing their stories in much shorter writing cycles.
